Dennis
Atkinson is a certified Clinical/Medical Hypnotherapist, a practitioner
of Neuro-Linguistics Programming, and a Professional Personal Life
Coach.
What hypnosis does is to help create a strong positive expectancy by
reducing stress and anxiety, thereby normalizing the actions of the
autonomic nervous system. Services Dennis provides may include a
utilization of an induction of hypnosis, meditation, or guided imagery,
thus helping clients discover their inner creative abilities to develop
positive thinking and feeling and to transform undesirable habits and
behavior patterns.
Some sessions may incorporate the use of the NeuroAdvantage™ Trainer.
"Research has found that this technology provides a drug-free
alternative that strengthens targeted brainwave patterns to foster
desired mental states; activates the parasympathetic nervous system's
relaxation response; promotes healing for numerous mental and physical
conditions."
The services provided by Dennis Atkinson do not include the practice of
medicine or psychotherapy as Dennis does not attempt to treat or
diagnose disease and/or mental disorders.
Dennis has been certified by the American Council of Hypnotist
Examiners, the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy
Association, The National Guild of Hypnotists, and the International
Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy, Dennis studied under the
direction of Katherine Zimmerman, PhD, at the California Hypnotherapy
Academy in Sacramento, California.
Dennis Atkinson began his interest with hypnosis in 1979 as a law
enforcement officer when hypnosis was first introduced as a tool to
assist victims and witnesses of violent crimes in recalling specifics of
an event. He retired from his prior job in July 2008, and took up the
art of hypnotherapy as a new career.
