What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a scientifically verified and effective technique that can promote accelerated change.

Hypnosis is an extremely pleasant state of mind whereby you experience deep mental and  physical relaxation.  A certified hypnotherapist
can help you use this state of mind to make positive and lasting changes in your life.

Any time you narrow your focus, as you do when you are really engrossed in a good movie, or
when you are directly focused on something and less focused on your outer surroundings,
you are in a light state of hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a very natural state of being, one where you are in complete control, and are completely aware of what is going on around you.

Hypnosis is not sleep, and you are not unconscious.

When hypnosis is induced, the critical faculty of
the mind is bypassed, and selective thinking is established.  The critical faculty is the conscious mind, and is the filter of the brain where we
learn, listen, reason, judge, and analyze.

The conscious is the part you use to make
decisions based on the experiences stored
in the subconscious.

When a certified hypnotherapist helps you bypass
the conscious mind in such a way that you no longer distinguish between hot and cold,
or sweet and sour, selective thinking can be substituted for conventional judgment thinking.

Selective thinking is your belief system --
that area of the conscious mind that filters our everyday information.

Hypnosis allows for communication directly with the subconscious, and allows for positive changes because the subconscious does not judge or analyze.  This is why positive changes can take place rapidly and effectively.

Five physiological signs that indicate hypnosis:

     1.   You may feel so relaxed that you do not want to
move a muscle or even open your eyes

     2.   You may feel a heaviness or lightness especially in
            your arms and legs.

     3.   You may feel tingling, dullness, or a sense of numbness            in your feet or hands

     4.   You may feel as if you are floating

     5.   You may have a sense of detachment and your                            surroundings may feel distant.
